Today, Team Liquid is announcing a limited edition 25th anniversary jersey to celebrate 25 years since Team Liquid was founded. This jersey features the unique 25th anniversary crest that we’ve created specifically for this year’s celebrations, as well as a sleek new design that feels good to wear.
With hundreds of players, talent, and staff scattered across the globe, Team Liquid is one of the biggest esports organizations in the world. When there are this many people involved, something like a jersey goes a long way towards making the entire organization feel united, like we’re all on one big team — which, well, we are.
The process of designing this jersey was an extensive collaborative effort within the org. It needed to be recognizable and timeless, so that it would remain relevant even after the anniversary year was over, but also specific enough to reflect the unique celebration it was created for. To that end, we’ve upgraded the typical jersey design somewhat by adding a collar, giving the 25th anniversary jersey a classic, prestigious look.
“I wanted it to feel different from our other jerseys,” said Matt Eriks, who led the design process. “We have always done that classic esports V-neck jersey, and I think most teams tend to default to that. I felt like that collar, not only was it a departure for us, but it makes it feel different when you wear it.”
The jersey features a unique pattern that may look somewhat recognizable to longtime fans: the horse head from the Team Liquid logo, splashed across the jersey itself. This is a reference to some of Team Liquid’s most iconic jerseys of the last few years, which featured the logo blown up to span the entire jersey.

There’s also a patch at the bottom of the anniversary jersey that displays the number “25” and the major cities the org operates in: Los Angeles, Utrecht, São Paulo, Manila, and Jakarta.
“We were trying to nod to the global nature of the org,” Matt said. “And we have, obviously, our three main Alienware training facilities, but we’ve also expanded into Southeast Asia. We had tried so many different ways of putting 25 somewhere on the jersey, many versions of how to represent that on the jersey, and [the patch] felt really good when we landed on that.”
Though there are many elements working together to make the jersey design work, the star of the show really is the 25th anniversary crest, which takes pride of place in the center of the chest and ties the whole thing together. The crest itself and its placement are heavily inspired by the jerseys worn by the national football team of the Netherlands, a reference to Team Liquid’s Dutch roots.
The 25th anniversary jersey is one of the centerpieces of our ongoing celebrations this year, and for good reason. We made it so that fans, players, and staff alike could proudly be united under one banner, and as a reminder to keep embodying the values and spirit that have kept Team Liquid going for this long.
